Drama Analysis
This is a scene from an episode of Dr Who. Although it could be classed as sci-fi it can also be classed as a drama as it follows several conventions that are typical of the genre. It is about a set of characters that have to overcome problems. It also involves an element of normal life being disrupted. In the scene there are 40 shots. The first is a slow panning shot and then throughout the scene the pace of the editing increases and the shots become shorter.This along with dramatic music and sound effects helps build suspense and tension. The lighting in these scene also contributes to this as it is quite dark, as is the location and set. In summery it is an effective scene that creates 'drama' and makes the viewer want to continue watching.
